Stamford Digital Leaders

We have an exciting opportunity for you. Hopefully, you have seen the Digital Leaders presentation in your form class or year group assembly. For the first time, the senior schools here at Stamford will have a Digital Leaders team.

What is a digital leader?

Application Process

A Digital leader could be a student from any year group (Year 7 to 13) who wants to make a difference to improve their schools use of digital technology and help shape digital citizenship. This is a leadership position which any student can have regardless of age or time spent in the Stamford Schools, based on their interest or passion for technology and wanting to share this with others.

Some possible areas to be involved with:

  • Be part of ensuring that SES students have the digital skills required for their future success
  • Represent your form or class with ideas about the use of technology in our schools
  • Learn new skills and share them with your form / class
  • Help shape and write the Code of Conduct for technology and E-Safety
  • Help run drop in / support sessions for students
  • Take part in the schools E-Safety committee

All you need to do is explain why you are interested in digital technology. You may wish to consider the following ideas :

  • Tell us a little but about yourself and your use of technology
  • What skills do you have that would help you as a digital leader?
  • What areas of school do you think can be improved by the use of more technology?
  • What previous experience do you have working with others?
  • Give an example of a time you taken a risk and took yourself out of your comfort zone. What did you learn from this experience?
  • Why do you think you would be a successful member of the digital leader team?

We would like you to answer these questions (and anything else you feel is relevant to support your application) in any suitable format that you would like to use, e.g. a video, a powerpoint presentation, an audio message, a flipgrid video, a sway or any other format that uses technology that you think would best show us your talent.

We will make you a member of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) which is an internationally recognised organisation (see QR code link to ISTE for students) https://www.iste.org/standards/for-students

We will help you access the Microsoft Academy so that you can work towards becoming a Microsoft Educator https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/imagine-academy

We will organise trips and events like BETT for the Stamford Digital Leaders to attend.
